International Osteopathy Day 2025

The International Osteopathy Conference JIO 2025 was held on May 24 at the University of Murcia’s University School of Osteopathy to mark its official opening.

The event brought together renowned international experts who shared knowledge, experiences, and new perspectives on osteopathic practice.

As part of the conference, a Poster Competition was organized, recognizing the best contributions in the field of osteopathy.

Caroline Stone

Dr. Jorge Esteves

Jorge Esteves is a renowned osteopath recognized for his leadership in academia, research, and osteopathic education internationally. His research focuses on the neurophysiology of manual therapy, pain, and the therapeutic relationship, with numerous scientific publications. He advocates for the integration of osteopathy into evidence-based medicine and actively participates in conferences and workshops, establishing himself as a key figure in the field.

Rebecca Giusti

Specializing in structural osteopathy, Rebecca Giusti is recognized for her clinical skills and contributions to osteopathic education. As the Head of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences, she has played a key role in training new osteopaths, integrating traditional principles with modern therapeutic approaches. Her work emphasizes biomechanics and individualized care, particularly in the treatment of complex conditions, combining scientific evidence with a patient-centered approach.

Frank Müller

Frank Müller is renowned for his expertise in manual therapy and his ability to integrate traditional osteopathic techniques with modern medical approaches. Dedicated to teaching and mentorship, he has contributed to the development of training programs that combine evidence-based practice with the holistic principles of Osteopathy. His work focuses on biomechanics, functional approaches, and the treatment of complex musculoskeletal disorders, promoting a balance between osteopathic tradition and clinical innovation.

 

Fermín López

Topic: Phylogenetic and Ontogenetic Aspects of Bipedalism and Cranial Hominization in the Human Species and Its Relevance to Osteopathy.

 

Fermín López obtained his DO. in Osteopathy in 2000 and has been a pioneer in exclusive Osteopathy practices in Spain. He specialized in Classical Osteopathy, earned a Master’s degree from the European School of Osteopathy, and trained in various areas, including psycho-neuro-immunology. He has been a teacher in visceral and musculoskeletal Osteopathy at several institutions and has collaborated in simultaneous translations. An active member of the Register of Osteopaths of Spain, he was honored as a member in 2015. With 25 years of experience, he also runs his own clinic and advocates for the professionalization of Osteopathy in Spain.

Jorge Aranda Beltrán is a prestigious osteopath with an outstanding academic background and international experience. Graduated in London, he earned a doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine and serves as the International Deputy Director of the University School of Osteopathy at the University of Murcia. He has taught at renowned institutions and participated in major international conferences. His philanthropic work includes founding Hands With Heart, an organization that provides free healthcare to vulnerable communities. Additionally, he actively promotes global healthcare accessibility.

Prof. Dr. Ginés Doménech Ratto

With a prestigious academic and scientific career, he has held key positions at the Central University of Barcelona and the University of Murcia, where he was a Professor of Anatomy, Director of the Department of Anatomy, Vice Dean, and Vice Rector. As the Academic Director of the University School of Osteopathy, he has made significant contributions to the training in this discipline. He was the president of the Spanish Anatomical Society and of the 22nd Congress of that society. Author of numerous publications in national and international journals, he has delivered lectures at scientific conferences and supervised multiple doctoral theses, establishing himself as an influential figure in Anatomy and Osteopathy.

 

Dr. José Soler Ródenas

José Soler is a Physiotherapist, Osteopath DO, holds a Master’s in Applied Clinical Anatomy, and a PhD from the University of Murcia. Since 2002, he has been the Director of the University School of Osteopathy, establishing himself as a reference in both the academic and clinical fields. His specialization in Pediatric Osteopathy and Posturology positions him as a leader in these disciplines. Additionally, he manages the prestigious Pepe Soler Osteopathy and Physiotherapy Clinic. His dedication to teaching and clinical practice makes him a role model for students seeking excellence in their education.
