International Osteopathy Day 2025

Welcome to the 2025 International Osteopathy Day (JIO), a unique event organized to mark the official opening of the new facilities of the University School of Osteopathy at the University of Murcia.

The event will take place at the IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta Hospital in the city of Murcia, on May 24, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

The conference will feature prominent international figures with the aim of sharing knowledge, exploring new frontiers, and delving into osteopathic practice from various perspectives.

For this important occasion, we are launching the Osteopathy Poster Presentation, with three prizes for selected contributions.

Author of key texts such as The Science in the Art of Osteopathy and Visceral and Obstetric Osteopathy, she has contributed to integrating osteopathic principles with evidence-based practice. Her work balances traditional osteopathy with modern scientific approaches, ensuring the evolution of the profession without losing its essential foundations.

Dr. Jorge Esteves

Jorge Esteves is a renowned osteopath recognized for his leadership in academia, research, and osteopathic education internationally. He has held teaching positions at prestigious institutions such as the University College of Osteopathy in London and the European School of Osteopathy in London. His research focuses on the neurophysiology of manual therapy, pain, and the therapeutic relationship, with numerous scientific publications. He advocates for the integration of osteopathy into evidence-based medicine and actively participates in conferences and workshops, establishing himself as a key figure in the field.

Rebecca Giusti

Topic: The Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) by DOs in the U.S. and its Inclusion in Conventional Medicine.

 

Specializing in structural osteopathy, Rebecca Giusti is recognized for her clinical skills and contributions to osteopathic education. As the Head of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences, she has played a key role in training new osteopaths, integrating traditional principles with modern therapeutic approaches. Her work emphasizes biomechanics and individualized care, particularly in the treatment of complex conditions, combining scientific evidence with a patient-centered approach.

Frank Müller

Frank Müller is renowned for his expertise in manual therapy and his ability to integrate traditional osteopathic techniques with modern medical approaches. Dedicated to teaching and mentorship, he has contributed to the development of training programs that combine evidence-based practice with the holistic principles of Osteopathy. His work focuses on biomechanics, functional approaches, and the treatment of complex musculoskeletal disorders, promoting a balance between osteopathic tradition and clinical innovation.

 

Fermín López

Topic: Phylogenetic and Ontogenetic Aspects of Bipedalism and Cranial Hominization in the Human Species and Its Relevance to Osteopathy.

 

Fermín López obtained his DO. in Osteopathy in 2000 and has been a pioneer in exclusive Osteopathy practices in Spain. He specialized in Classical Osteopathy, earned a Master’s degree from the European School of Osteopathy, and trained in various areas, including psycho-neuro-immunology. He has been a teacher in visceral and musculoskeletal Osteopathy at several institutions and has collaborated in simultaneous translations. An active member of the Register of Osteopaths of Spain, he was honored as a member in 2015. With 25 years of experience, he also runs his own clinic and advocates for the professionalization of Osteopathy in Spain.

Dr. Jorge Aranda

Jorge Aranda Beltrán is a prestigious osteopath with an outstanding academic background and international experience. Graduated in London, he earned a doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine and serves as the International Deputy Director of the University School of Osteopathy at the University of Murcia. He has taught at renowned institutions and participated in major international conferences. His philanthropic work includes founding Hands With Heart, an organization that provides free healthcare to vulnerable communities. Additionally, he actively promotes global healthcare accessibility.

Prof. Dr. Ginés Doménech Ratto 

Professor of Anatomy at the University of Murcia, Spain.
 

Topic: Languages of the Face.

 

With a prestigious academic and scientific career, he has held key positions at the Central University of Barcelona and the University of Murcia, where he was a Professor of Anatomy, Director of the Department of Anatomy, Vice Dean, and Vice Rector. As the Academic Director of the University School of Osteopathy, he has made significant contributions to the training in this discipline. He was the president of the Spanish Anatomical Society and of the 22nd Congress of that society. Author of numerous publications in national and international journals, he has delivered lectures at scientific conferences and supervised multiple doctoral theses, establishing himself as an influential figure in Anatomy and Osteopathy.

 

Dr. José Soler Ródenas

Topic: JIO 2025 Inaugural Speech

 

José Soler is a Physiotherapist, Osteopath DO, holds a Master’s in Applied Clinical Anatomy, and a PhD from the University of Murcia. Since 2002, he has been the Director of the University School of Osteopathy, establishing himself as a reference in both the academic and clinical fields. His specialization in Pediatric Osteopathy and Posturology positions him as a leader in these disciplines. Additionally, he manages the prestigious Pepe Soler Osteopathy and Physiotherapy Clinic. His dedication to teaching and clinical practice makes him a role model for students seeking excellence in their education.

REGISTRATION

The registration fee:

  • €150 for Osteopaths and Physiotherapists.
  • €120 for members of the ROE (Register of Osteopaths of Spain).
  • €75 for undergraduate students.
  • €45 watch online/streaming.

 

Alumni and faculty of the EUO, free attendance. Registration is mandatory.

POSTER PRESENTATION

Participation in the event will be allowed for studies containing original material in osteopathic research, but priority will be given to original and relevant works that can contribute to the current and future osteopathic debate. Additionally, three prizes will be awarded to the selected posters: 150 euros for first place, 100 euros for second place, and 50 euros for third place.
